How to replace GEYSER Water Filter cartridges / training for dummies.
Visually, filters from different manufacturers may differ from each other, but the principle of replacing replaceable modules is the same. You can change it yourself, nothing complicated.

P.S. I forgot to say in the video, do not forget to turn off the main riser with cold water

The cartridge is exactly what saves the water from contamination. It is filled with materials that stop harmful substances: for example, coal or peat.

Cartridges come in different types, shapes and sizes. There is only one small cassette in the jug filter "Barrier", and as many as five are installed in the reverse osmosis filter. The function of all cassettes is the same — to purify water. But the principle of operation and the rate of wear are different: some can serve as much as two years. But anyway, not a single cartridge lives forever.
It is important to understand that each cartridge has its own life span, and remember how often you need to change yours. Of course, when you need to cook dinner for the whole family, take out the trash, clean up and generally carry the whole load of household chores, it's easy to forget about the filter. It works, and that's fine.

But what happens to a tea bag if you brew it a hundred times? After the fifth time, there will be no tea in the glass anymore — just a cloudy slurry. Because the "resource" of the bag will be exhausted. The same will happen to the filter cartridge when its life comes to an end. You don't need to cross out every day of the cartridge's service in the calendar, but it's worth putting a reminder on your phone.
What happens if you don't change the cartridge on time?
The filter will start to clean worse. There is iron, rust, chlorine and even heavy metals in the water. The filter stops all this and stores it in itself. Until it overflows.

If you've ever had aquarium fish, you've seen what an aquarium filter looks like. And you know that it needs to be washed and changed. After all, when you pull it out of the aquarium, an unknown form of life pours out — all the accumulated dirt.
Another example is a bag in a vacuum cleaner. If you do not change it for a long time, the dust will not only not be sucked in, but will soon rush out. The same thing can happen to the dirt from your filter, and then it will all end up in your water.

Filters more slowly. Now you understand what the filter turns into after a long time of use. It is difficult for water to pass through such mud barricades. Therefore, if the pan takes too long to fill, this is a sign — it's time to change the filter.

If you use the cartridge on the flow filter for longer than the term, it can disable the entire system. Imagine that one pipe bursts or clogs in the water supply. After that, everything breaks down, and neither you nor Vasya get water from the next apartment.
And how often do you need to change this whole thing so as not to cause problems?
There are many cleaning systems, and each of them needs its own approach. That's how things are with the jug, the flow and the osmofilter.
Jug filters: updated every 2 months.
You've probably already seen such a simple but useful device. The principle of operation is simple: pour water, wait, drink.

The jug is small, one cassette is enough for him. This has its pros and cons. You need to change the cartridge often, but it depends on the intensity of use.

If you live alone, the cassette can last for 3 months, but in a family of 4 people you need to change it more often — once every 1-1.5 months. Since there is only one cassette, if it overflows, the water will not be cleaned at all — all impurities will get into drinking water.

Flow filters: installed and forgotten for six months or a year. Flow filters are installed under the sink, and their presence is provided only by a separate tap for drinking water. There are three defenders of our health standing here at once.
These fighters can serve up to 3 years. Depending on the quality of the water and the number of people in the family, cartridges are sometimes changed more often, every six months or a year.

If the filter is in the house of a bachelor who spends half his life at work or on business trips, then the cartridges and all 3 years can not be changed. And in a family of five, where life is constantly boiling, borscht is cooked and water is drunk, cassettes will have to be changed about once every six months.
Reverse osmosis filters: in order not to forget when to change each filter, you will need a sticker on the refrigerator.
The reverse osmosis cleaning system works on the principle of a flow filter — it is installed under the sink and supplies water through a faucet. Such a system has 5-6 cartridges. Each of them has a different service life.
The first three cartridges protect us from impurities, they need to be changed every 3-6 months.
