Mixing Synth Horns
#MixTipMonday This one moves pretty quick so watch it a few times to get everything. A combination of EQ, distortion and reverb help synth horns sit in a mix. As good as some fake horns sound these days, I always find them a bit harsh. They also tend to poke out of a mix too far and on earbuds can almost be painful to listen to. Take down that harshness with EQ and then accentuate the good stuff with a few boosts and then some subtle saturation from Avid LoFi. A bit a room reverb to give them some space and you should have a much smoother and more authentic horn sound
