Photoshop 2023 - Fix Flickering Screen *** made for Photoshop 2020 this process works with Photoshop 2023 too! *** On a PC READ THE REST OF THIS DESCRIPTION!
If you find your screen flashes black and white when you open a file in the new Photoshop 2020, 2021, 2022 or 2023, here is the solution. I'll show you how to fix it so you can use the program! It's an annoying problem when your screen flashes and you can't see your image but there is, thankfully, a quick fix.
In 2023 on a PC you can solve the problem without disabling your Graphics Processor this way: (thanks to Stuart and ArtOfEagleBrace who offered this solution) Choose Edit - Preferences then Technology Previews and check the Older GPU Mode (Pre 2016). Close and restart Photoshop.
Yet another option (from Bob Charles) is to go to Preferences - Technology Previews and enable the "Deactivate native canvas" option (this requires the graphic processor to be enabled!). Restart Photoshop.
