Considered by some as “the most dangerous musician since Nero,” P.D.Q. Bach is undoubtedly the most obscure but also least talented composer to ever exist. Except he never even existed in the first place...
A note on the background music
Although Peter Schickele is best known today for having "discovered" the works of the forgotten P.D.Q. Bach, his talent for composition extended well beyond just the realm of P.D.Q., as he also wrote more "serious" music that was unrelated to his fictitious composer. As this video doubles as a tribute to the late Peter Schickele, I took the time to closely study these lesser-known compositions of his and decided to incorporate only these pieces into the audio of this video essay. Therefore, none of the background music is P.D.Q. Bach's, so to speak, but purely Peter Schickele's.
The following is a list of every composition that can be heard in this video (in order of appearance)
• String Quartet No. 5, "A Year in the ...
• The Priest Of The Raven Of Dawn
• Exchanges Of Information
• Piano Concerto No.1 In G Major
• 4:00 AM, June; The Sky Was Green
