Together with our partners at ENMAX, the familiar sight of the red and white flags is back on the streets, with a special thank you to our frontline workers.
The tradition of decorating the streets of Calgary goes all the way back to 1923 when Guy Weadick asked hotels and businesses to create their best Stampede display. Decades later, we see this in the form of window paintings, storefront displays and those red and white flags you see lining the streets of Calgary. It’s a time when our city starts to transform, the energy in the air starts to change and community spirit is at an all-time high. And while 2020 has been challenging and different for everyone, what isn’t different is our community’s unique spirit and resiliency.
