Start out by choosing a time that works for everyone’s needs and energy levels. And try to be flexible…because each day is different! Second, be sure to give kids all the books and direction they’ll need to read for 20 minutes without pausing. And finally, find a way to make reading time special! For example, have your child make a reading nook with blankets, pillows and stuffed animals. Kids are sure to get excited about reading when they know they get to do it in a fun space they created!
