The prego macaque and the guariba are very tasty and the Zo'é won't let them escape. Several youths turn themselves into ape men and they shin up the trunk until they're on a level whit them.
They are armed, and climb with the help of some lianas wich arm their feet too. It looks as if it's going to be a good day's hunting and the ones who'll feel it most are the two guaribas.
From the ground or the treetops the hunters' arrows prove inescapable for the monkeys. They would have preferred to face the jaguar itself and not the all-powerful homo sapiens. Sooner or later the great naked always wins. Exactly three and a half hours of pursuit to reach this moment.
The sharpened arrows of several hunters have broken the reddish bodies of these guaribas into a thousand pieces.
