I've made two music videos this year, one with 10 x the budget of the other. More kit, more crew, less limitations, but not necessarily a 10 x better result. $35,000 meant we could shoot Arri Alexa Mini with some sexy Zeiss Super Speeds vs the $3500 which meant we shot on my S1H with some not quite a characterful Meike's. Hopefully this online film school in how I divided everything up and tried to make some money myself is helpful.
I also hope the change of talk in pounds (£) and dollars ($) wasn't too hectic for people... when I first started working on this video the pound was worth a lot more, and it's taken so long to edit and do my maths that the title changed from a $40,000 vs $4000 at the last minute when I checked my workings!
