Did you know that women are far less likely to receive CPR than men in the case of cardiac arrest?

Only 39% of women received CPR from bystanders in public compared to 45% of men!

We have heard of all the reasons and fears:

“I will cause physical injury to the woman or baby.”
“I will get sued if I hurt a woman.”
“She’s just being dramatic”

As a pregnant woman these statistics and fears from bystanders are really terrifying. More than ever this topic needs to be discussed more to help reduce these barriers and inform others how to properly perform CPR to women. #GOREDFORWOMEN

It’s even more important to remember that without providing these life-saving measures, the mother and the baby will likely not survive. Finding the right CPR course and feeling confident in your skills can alleviate these concerns that so many people may have.

Please remember that the steps to perform CPR on women are the same as for men, yet the reality still exists that may make it harder for a woman to get help than a man.
