Geometry Dash - Deprivation preview #1 (upcoming insane demon)
I'm building a new level! This level is called Deprivation (as you saw from the thumbnail and title) and it's a 2 minute long experimental insane demon. I consider these early stages of Deprivation to be my best work yet. The section you see in the video shows the beginning, the most normal section of the level. The song is very quiet at the beginning, so I chose to make the ship part very calm and simple, using only 3 types of saws to make the gameplay. The up-right-down-left movement of the brick slopes, the spinning of the black windmill, and the light shaking are all supposed to give the player a mildly uneasy feeling. The rest of the decoration is kind of there to make the level look pretty. To signal that things are getting worse, I made the wave part all red, and added a small background effect using many of the spiral sawblade decorations from 2.1. I mostly covered the entire screen with sawblades at this part to create a claustrophobic feeling however it also makes the level feel less empty. When the music builds up to the drop, I inverted the colors to contrast with the beginning of the levels. The black decorations in the level all turned white, except the dusty chains and ground decorations, which became a blending version of the background. For the background itself, I chose to make it rainbow to look like the player is taking psychedelic drugs. I took the colors used for the effect from my level JuST A FiLLeR LevEL. The rest of the level is unfinished, but I have created the gameplay for the first half of the first drop, which you can see on my Reddit account u/berdyberd26. While working on Deprivation, I'm mostly trying to create the ideas I have in my mind. I have a very vivid imagination when it comes to making Geometry Dash levels, but not the skills to create the actual level. I have a lot of fun building this level which is probably because it's meant to be experimental, so there's a lot more freedom :)
