Keeping Grandma explores themes of identity, generational trauma, isolation and immigration issues. I want it to shed light on the injustices that people have gone through and which many still face today as part of the Windrush history.
It also highlights the affect it has on not only the adults but the children. Who are often kept in the dark for their ‘benefit’.
Keeping Grandma is not only a story about potentially losing the matriarch of a British-Nigerian family. It’s also about how that family came together in a time of desperate need to stay united.

Written directed by Yemi Adegbulu.
