NOTE: This is one of the only few Disney VHS tapes in 2003 to use the VHS version of the Lucasfilm Ltd. version of the THX Broadway logo, the other ones were the VHS release of Treasure Planet (released on April 29, 2003), the special edition VHS release of Sleeping Beauty (released on September 9, 2003) and the VHS release of Freaky Friday (released on December 16, 2003). The DVD version was no longer used after the 2001 DVD release of Pearl Harbor (released on December 4, 2001), in which that was the only Touchstone and Jerry Bruckheimer movie to ever use the Lucasfilm Ltd. version of the THX Broadway logo.
NOTE #2: I have the 2003 DVD release of The Lion King, but that copy, compare to the VHS tape I got for Christmas yesterday and the actual DVD release does not have the FBI warning screens, the Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo, trailers, DVD menu, THX, Disney DVD and Disney Enchanted Home Theater Mix Logo, it goes right to the film.
NOTE #3: James Earl Jones (who voices Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise) voices Mufasa (who dies in the film) in this film. He even reprises his role as that character in the 2019 live action adaptation of the film, in which in fact, I actually went to go see that film back in the summer of 2019 when it was out, we went to the Cheesequake Factory near the movie theater we went to for dinner right after it was over.
NOTE #4: This VHS came along with the 1996 VHS of Toy Story, in which the case is damage, but the VCR tape works perfectly since it came yesterday.
NOTE #5: I don’t like the scene where Scar murders Mufasa. And I don’t like watching scenes of movie/TV show characters dying at all!
