What is VLOOKUP in Excel?
VLOOKUP stands for vertical lookup. The VLOOKUP function in Microsoft Excel is used to find things in a table or a range by row.
The Syntax of VLOOKUP formula is =VLOOKUP (LOOKUP_VALUE, TABLE_ARRAY, COL_INDEX_NUM, [RANGE_LOOKUP]). The LOOKUP_VALUE is the value you want to look up and it must be in the first column. The TABLE_ARRAY is the range of cells. The COL_INDEX_NUM is the column number that contains the return value. The RANGE_LOOKUP argument is optional in which, 1 or True for Approximate Match and 0 or FALSE for Exact Match.
