Mailchimp Popup Form WordPress - Increase Email Subscribers (2020)
In this video, I'll be guiding you through how to add a Mailchimp subscriber sign-up popup form on WordPress. As of June 2020, there have been some changes to the process. In my opinion, Mailchimp made it a bit more complicated. However, adding a sign-up pop-up form on your WordPress website can increase your MailChimp opt-ins by a significant amount. So let's dive in and I'll show you how to set it up. Additionally, I show you how to create a segment for the popup subscribers. Lastly, I show you to uninstall the pop-up, in case you change your mind.
Steps to Connect and add your Pop-up form to your website
1. Under the Audience navigation tab, click Sign up Forms
2. On the Sign Up Forms page click the Connect button next to the Subscriber Popup Form
3. Add formatting and content to your pop-up sign-up form
4. Click Connect Your Site
5. Add your website URL
6. Copy the Javascript code
7. Go over to your WordPress website and paste the code in the head area of your site
8. Back on Mailchimp click Test Connection
9. Activate the pop-up form

Adding the MailChimp sign-up popup form to your WordPress website can be a little technical.
If you don't have a theme option to add the code to your site header and you are not comfortable with adding the code to your child's theme header.php file, then I recommend using a plugin like Headers and Footers. The plugin is available for free in the WordPress plugin repo.
