If you’ve ever used an online live chat, liked a picture on social media or played an online game in a browser, chances are you’ve used WebSockets. This communication protocol allows servers and clients to communicate in real time, removing the need to reload after user interactions and unlocking exciting user experiences.
In this workshop we look at how WebSockets work, explore some exciting use cases and implement them for ourselves using Javascript, Node.js and the popular library Socket.IO.
You will need Node installed for this workshops - https://nodejs.org/en/download/packag...
A huge thank you the Financial Times and Ben Holmes for this workshop.
