Season of the Drifter - ULTIMATE FARMING GUIDE! Enhancement Cores, Mods, Shards
Enhancement Cores are arguably the most important material to have heading into Drifter. With a new power cap of 700, it'll be critical to have enhancement cores if you want to infuse your gear up to that max light level, as well as if you want to fully masterwork that gear. In this video, I go over the best farming methods for masterwork cores.
Scapper Bounties - found when dismantling weapons and armor. Yield enhancement cores, along with shards and tokens when completed.
Finest Matterweave - earn an enhancement core when defeating a powerful enemy.
Spider Bounties - earn legendary gear and an enhancement core when defeating a wanted enemy. These cost ghost fragments and can be purchased via Spider.
Materials Conversion System - BEST FARM METHOD BY FAR. Yields cores, mod components, gunsmith materials, along with chance at Year 1 exotics. Best are Simulation Seeds, but any material work. I would avoid Seraphite (Mars), though.
The best way to farm mod components is via the collection system. You want to purchase the Lionheart Auto Rifle or Harsh Language grenade launcher from your collections; each one will cost you 250 glimmer and 3 gunsmith materials. When dismantled, these have a high chance of yielding a mod component! It's roughly 1 mod component for every 10 blue weapons dismantled, but as you can see here you can get even more than that. The nice thing about Lionheart, is it will dismantle into 125 glimmer and 2 gunsmith materials, which is a much better return on your investment than a regular blue.
Make sure to utilize this method whenever you have a little free time at the tower. It's a quick way to get enough mod components to get that nice mod from Banshee-44.
