Pointers And Array
-pointers are especially useful w/ arrays.
-an array declaration reserves a block of contiguous memory addresses for its elements.
-w/ pointers, we can point to the 1st element and then use address arithmetic to traverse the array
+used to move forward to a memory location.
-used to move backward to a memory location.
-important concept w/ arrays is that an array name acts as a pointer to the 1st element of the array.
ex. ptr = a can be thought of as ptr = &a[0]
-an array is actually a contiguous block of memory. That means if you have an array for ex. integers then they're allocated (stored) next to each other.
