Here is the third video from the Ableton Live Tips & Tricks series. More videos will be coming soon, so make sure you Subscribe to my channel!
In this video you will learn how to:
1. Switch between Clip and Device Views
As you probably already know, when you press Tab you can switch between Arrangement View and Session View. But if you hold the Shift key and then press Tab, you will change the lower side of the screen (Clip View and Device View).
This shortcut is very useful and can save you a lot of time and clicks.
2. Re-enable Automation
If you have an automation on a track and you change that parameter, the automation will be disabled. But you can easily enable it back with the small arrow button found on the upper side of the screen.

3. Assign Knobs & Buttons (Midi Mapping)
First you must press the MIDI button or simply CTRL + M, then click on the function you want to assign. Now turn a knob on your controller, disable Midi mapping and test your new function.
This should work for any parameter in Ableton Live and for any VST plugin, and with all types of Midi Controllers. You are free to assign them as you wish.
4. Watch Your Entire Session
Simply turn on the Follow button (Right Arrow) or press Ctrl + Shift + F, then you can closely study your arrangement.
I hope this tutorial was useful. If you have any requests, post them in the comments area below.
