Blood, Guts and Glory (ice fishing on Simcoe)
Great day of ice fishing! Today I joined Brian and his friends to some near the end of the season whitefish action on Lake Simcoe. It was the day that I finally hooked up with my first lake trout of the season, about two weeks before it closed. Brian and his friends did very well, limiting out after a very short time in the morning and I got plenty of sweet underwater footage of the fish cruising through.
The ice has taken a huge beating over the past couple weeks with warm spells of over 10 degrees Celsius, severely weakening the shore line. In addition to the warm weather, permanent huts had to pull off the ice, causing more damage. This certainly
There was certainly blood sprayed on the ice, some guts(and crazy) involved to get on the ice and it all certainly paid off with the fishing!
