Q: Doesn't it rain a lot in the PNW? A: I'm in Vancouver, WA (about 15 mins from Portland, OR). We get 42 inches per year and the US average is 38 inches of rain. If you're coming from California it may be more rain than you're used to - but Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, & Nashville all get more rainfall than we do. In the Portland area, our rain is really misty and spread out over more days so that's probably where this misconception comes from :)
