Technics SL-DJ 1200 MK3 Turntable transformer repair / upgrade + ground wire removal
In this video, i'll be upgrading the transformer on a Technics SL-DJ 1200 MK3 turntable with a high-quality, audiophile-grade replacement.
The original transformer has become broken due to connecting it to 220V instead of original 110V and replacing it will make this turntable functional again and in theory can improve the sound quality and performance of the turntable.
I'll start by opening up the turntable and carefully removing the old transformer. Then, i'll install the new transformer, making sure to connect all the wires correctly and securely.
Additionally, I'll be removing the ground wire on the turntable. The ground wire is typically used to reduce noise and interference, but some audiophiles prefer to remove it for a purer sound (i'll solder it to cinch negative wire).
