How strong are the Imperial Royal Guards in Star Wars?
Cuz in the movies and shows, we don’t see them in action; they just stand there looking intimidating in their red robes!
But becoming a Royal Guard was super tough and dangerous!
As only the best of the best from the Stormtrooper Corps were picked to try out for the Royal Guard.
Each tryout had only 40 candidates sent to the planet Yinchorr for their harsh training.
And these candidates learned the martial arts form Echani, which focused on using their body as a weapon.
But the training was the hardest in the Empire, and they had to fight to stay in the program.
And by the end, only 2 out of the 40 were left, and they had to fight to the death in front of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine until only one remained, earning the right to wear the red robes of an Imperial Royal Guard!
Now as elite guards, they used Force Pikes that could block blaster shots and even lightsabers!
But they also had heavy blaster pistols and were so skilled that one time, 1 Royal Guard turned the tide of a battle just minutes after he arrived!
So yeah, they’re pretty powerful!
