I'm a very lucky guy because I get to try out a lot of really nice photo and video gear, and recently I tested the Panasonic 70-300 while I was out in South Africa.
I wanted a compact, lightweight telephoto lens that didn't compromise on image quality, purely because I wanted to travel as lightweight as possible. So, I took the Panasonic Lumix S5 with the Panasonic 70-300 to capture as much wildlife as possible, and this combo is incredibly lightweight and extremely versatile for wildlife photography.
The Panasonic 70-300 stands to be one of the best bang-for-buck L-Mount lenses out there in my opinion, and the image quality coupled with the lightweight design and form factor makes it the dream telephoto lens for travel.
If you are into sports photography, wildlife photography, nature photography, or anything where getting up close and personal is a must, then i'd highly recommend the Panasonic 70-300 and it would definitely be my first choice of all the telephoto lenses available for the L-Mount.
