Hi, I'm testing this type of "compound" shape that appeared in the latest versions of blender. I like it very much (although perhaps it can only be used with objects that do not divide, otherwise, constraints would be needed)
In any case it is really easy to use this shape. Find a good tutorial on the "blender short tests" channel
The difference between the shape compound and the convex is that the convex does not allow two objects to intersect entirely with each other, so I wanted to try it with some chairs because is a difficult shape to simulate
I then tried to use the shape mesh, but I gave up: too slow and too unstable.
Settings Rigid Body Physics
Split impulse active
Substeps per frame 20
Solver iterations 20
For the render i use the great E-Cycles Rtx Pro
I'm trying to simulate as many chairs as possible. Currently my pc with ryzen 2700 and rtx 3060 can hold up to 4000 original chairs, but reducing the polygons I think I will be able to put many more
