After making the best film of 1996—[HARU, starring Eri Fukatsu as a woman so pretty you leave your partner and your city and your life just to see her], and then the best film of 1997—[LOST PARADISE, starring Hitomi Kuroki as a woman so pretty you leave your partner and your city and your life just to see her], the iconoclast Japanese director —and one of my personal favorites—Yoshimitsu Morita, decided to make his own Avengers; 2003’s LIKE ASURA is a canon event where the two aforementioned actresses share the screen as sisters.
