You will now be able to take full-sized toothpaste to the airport!
UK Airports are about to become soooo much less stressful as 2024 will see the biggest relaxation of security regulations in decades.
These changes will see the 100ml liquid rule be increased to 2 litres and mean passengers won’t need to remove electrical items from their bags thanks to smarter technology.
Finally! No need to squeeze all my items into carrier bags the size of a packet of crisps anymore!
Well, not yet!
The government set a deadline of June 2024 for most UK airports to have these new, high-tech 3D scanners.
Although that seems far away, according to the Department for Transport, these new scanners will enhance passenger safety, as staff will have more detailed images of what people are carrying.
Your luggage will now pass through these scanners as 3D images, this a vast improvement from the 2D images currently used.
Not only that, these scanners will improve the overall customer experience of airports as the security waiting times are the biggest factor for major delays of airports in 2022.
So the once dreaded airport experience we all know, may become a lot more pleasant!
But this does not mean you can now turn up 20 minutes before your flight, it does mean you can carry 2 litres of sun cream though!
