Welcome to GeeklyEDU Statistics and Probability! The Probability Mass Function (PMF, also known as frequency function) of a discrete random variable x assigns probabilities to the possible values of the random variable. The Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF) of a random variable x is a function of the real numbers. The Probability density function (PDF) is a function in which integral is calculated to find probabilities associated with a continuous random variable.
Watch our video to see the visual representation of each of those functions and learn what they are used for!
