Jockey gets 28-day ban after easing up on clear leader
Matthew Lloyd Slater looked sure to win the 7f claimer at Leicester on Blufferonthebus, the 7-4 favourite, but then took things easy and got caught close home. He was given a 28-day ban.
The inexperienced 22-year-old was seeking his first winner after only nine previous rides. "He will feel absolutely awful," said our man at the track James Millman.
