The $95 yearly fee Citi Premier Card offers additional points across common spending categories, making it a terrific everyday credit card, especially if you travel internationally frequently.
However, it falls short of the status implied by its moniker, especially when compared to other travel credit cards at the same price point. The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, for example, has the same annual cost, but its points are worth 1.25 cents each when redeemed for travel, as opposed to the 1 cent value of your ThankYou points.
Because of some shortcomings in critical areas such as point values and transfer partners, it is more of a "middle-of-the-road" option.
A significant sign-up incentive is available, as well as a yearly hotel credit that can cover the annual charge. However, the Citi Premier® Card falls short of the competition in general.
