If your dog develops sudden sneezing and you're asking why is my dog sneezing uncontrollably, the causes could be many. But, depending on the history and symptoms your dog is showing, it is likely these can be narrowed down without too much trouble
Sneezing is due to some irritation in the nasal cavity.
Infection (viral, bacterial, fungal), masses, allergic disease (not a common cause), foreign bodies - something stuck up the nose
The signs and symptoms will vary depending on the cause of the sudden sneezing:
Infection - not constant sneezing, more now and then with some sneezing fits. Also get snotty nasal discharge - liquid to very thick, white through to yellow-green - both nostrils
Masses - similar to an infection, come on more slowly, the vet may be able to detect a lack of air flowing through one nostril if completely obstructed. Generally 1 sided discharge
Allergic disease - not a common cause of sneezing, sneezing with clear, liquidy runny nose + some sneezing
FB or chemical irritation - come on very suddenly, often can't stop sneezing, no discharge to start with if present a long time, then will get a nasal discharge. 1 nostril unless more than 1 FB. Clear - bloody discharge after a while + then pus if stays up nose. Grass seeds, awns or foxtails, also blades of grass, bits of stick or other vegetation most common culprits
