The Almoravid movement was born south of Al Andalus, in the Moroccan Desert. It had gone from a religious movement to an empire that united the Berber tribes under their banner and led the expansion into Spain, eventually reaching the Pyrenees to the North. However, now, to the south, a new movement was taking shape. Something quite like the Almoravids themselves that would test the limits of Almoravid power and stability.
