2018 Mazda 6 turbo flagship. Let me start by saying I love Mazda. I love the brand, the vehicles they make and what they stand for. Mazda’s design team does an incredible job making beautiful machines for the mass market to enjoy, and they drive very well. Even their interiors are punching far above their class, and deserve every award they get. The 2018 Mazda 6 is right up there with the best of them.
With that all said, there is a bit missing from Mazda. While I appreciate what they do for their cars, they need a performance car. Mazda’s new slogan is “Driving Matters” which is pretty in tune with what the brands cars and SUV’s project. However, a brand that makes vehicles that look the way Mazda’s do, and with a slogan like “Driving Matters”, it is a shame the most HP you can get from the factory is 227 HP from the CX-9. I think I definitely speak for everyone when I say: We need to see a powerful Mazda.
The 2018 Mazda 6 will be a fantastic car, but will not fill the performance car gap. It might be another year or more before we see the elusive MazdaSpeed 6.
The exterior will stay unchanged through the 2018 model year, which is totally fine. The Mazda 6 is one of the best looking sedans on the market, especially at its price point. A number of sources point to Mazda creating a Mazda 6 coupe or four door coupe, but this is largely speculation. However, Mazda is continuing to move toward a more premium line up and offer more luxuries than ever. This transition could cue in a number of new models that may include the Mazda 6 coupe.
