How Reuters News automates charts using the Datawrapper API
This is a recording of a presentation made at Datawrapper's 2024 Unwrapped conference by Jon McClure and Ben Welsh of Reuters News.
The talk, titled "Bare Facts First," explains how reporters, editors and computer programmers at Reuters use the Datawrapper API to create, automate and disseminate hundreds of charts each week.
McClure explains how the charts made by Reuters staff are shared with the world via the agency's different distribution channels.
Welsh explains how that system is used to automate the creation of thousands of routine charts.
