Samson Q9U XLR/USB Dynamic Broadcast Microphone Review and Mic Test (ft. Shure MV7 and Samson Q2U)
Today, the Samson Q9U is FINALLY in the Audio Hotline Studio. I made my preorder for this mic 14 months ago! It was a long wait and in this video I decide whether or not this XLR / USB mic is actually worth that wait!
The Samson Q9U is a Broadcast Dynamic style microphone with a Cardioid Polar Pattern and it is capable of being a USB mic as well as an XLR Mic! This mic has a lot of great features and could be a good choice for a lot of people. This mic meets a lot of the requirements to be a great, and convenient choice, for podcasting, broadcast, streaming, and YouTube content creation in general.... BUT you need to decide that for yourself! Check out the testing and audio samples and see if this is the right mic for you! Every person has different expectations and needs when it comes to audio gear. If the features are what you need, and you like the sound, then it’s right for you!

Disclaimer: I do want to clarify a portion of this video. During my review section I mention accidentally hitting the mute button and missing a clip that I really wanted to capture. I do think a indicator light would be nice or just a standard on and off switch that is easy to see (like the Q2U), but I also wanted to clarify that a big part of my frustration was the fact that I wasn’t monitoring my audio. I tell my subscribers to ALWAYS monitor their audio. So when I missed that clip it was my fault, BUT it did make me realize “hey an indicator light would be nice.” Use my mess up as a cautionary tale...
