Gene Washington was a wide receiver with the Minnesota Vikings from 1967–1972. Washington was raised in Texas during segregation and played for Michigan State, one of the first racially integrated college football teams in the 60s. Maya Washington, one of his three daughters, is a documentary film maker and was compelled to share her father’s story on film. Host Mike Max brings us the story of this exciting project: Through the Banks of the Red Cedar, which is currently in post-production.
