This Book Predicted ChatGPT. So what's next?
This book PREDICTED a POSITIVE future we can have. But is this the sci-fi future we want?
One year before ChatGPT rolled out for the public - and we all changed the way we find information - I read this science-fiction book for young adults called the Scythe. And then the whole trilogy.
Back then I had no idea some parts of it would become reality in less than 1 year.
This book - gave me HOPE for our future.

Once upon a time, Neal Schusterman woke up and got an idea. What if he wrote a book COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than any other science fiction, where AI is the good one and Humans are the villains?
In short, the Arc of a Scythe is a world managed by AI - in a POSITIVE AND PROSPERING WAY - world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery. Humanity with AI has conquered all those things, and has even conquered death. Nobody dies, everybody can be revived in automated hospitals. And yes, people jump from buildings as an extreme sport.
However, because nobody dies naturally, there is one problem in this society - OVERPOPULATION.
Now scythes - killers chosen by humans - are the only ones who can end life — and they are commanded to do so, in order to keep the size of the population under control.
This global artificial intelligence did not want to decide between life and death, because it would be blamed for death and it would prevent it from it's goal to make humanity prosper. And because this is the last social sector not managed by “objective” AI but rather by naturally greedy people, it’s also the last area where corruption can happen.
That's why today we will be talking about the areas/domains/parts.. that ARE managed by AI and are purely prospering for society, in 4 categories.
From the most generic changes, to experimental and controversial experiments.
And you can tell me for each one if you would like to live in a world like that?
The positive future in year 2100, or 2050, or even now? Do we live in the future now?
