TAUT-LINE HITCH | How to make a taut-line hitch
We place a lot of trust in a truckers hitch and as one of the most versatile knots, a trucker's hitch can save you a lot of time and effort but it's not the only way to tension a line. We can use a taut-line hitch to add a variable tensioner knot to our ridgeline. A taut-line hitch works similar to a grommet in that it allows you to tension your ridgeline or guy lines. In this video I share how to use a taut-line hitch for every day purposes as well as for wilderness survival purposes. The benefit of making a taut-line hitch is that you can use it to tension your line or add slack through all while still being easy to undo. Once you've practiced making a taut-line hitch a few times, it will be one of your favorite knots, a cool party trick and something you readily do at combat speed.
