Starship Flight 3 PRE-LAUNCH PARTY Q&A!!!
Welcome to our PRELAUNCH PARTY and Q&A! Starship's 3rd full stack flight test is currently no earlier than March 14th at 7:30 a.m. [12:30 UTC], but until then, we'll give you a rundown on what to expect and help answer questions leading up to this historic launch!
This is the third fully integrated full stack test flight of Starship and the mighty Super Heavy booster, the largest and most most powerful rocket to ever fly. It produces over twice as much thrust as the Saturn V that took humans to the moon.
The goal of the test is to get further along than IFT-3 in November, 2023 which didn't made it through stage separation but. didn't complete a full second stage burn and the booster didn't survive through its boost back burn. If all goes well, Starship will re-enter in the Indian Ocean 90 minutes after it lifts off from Starbase, TX,. This would allow the teams to test the reentry profile and heat shields for the first time from near orbital velocities.
