STORYLINE:
Supporters of the Palestinian cause rallied in downtown Johannesburg on Friday evening.
Fadwa Barghouti, wife of jailed Palestinian activist Marwan Barghouti, addressed the thousand-strong crowd at the Palestine Solidarity Rally.
The Palestine Solidarity Committee of South Africa is one of many groups planning to take part in the mass demonstration at the World Summit on Sustainable Development on Saturday.
The will be going to the township of Alexandra to march of the upmarket suburb of Sandton where the summit is held.
