Somaliland is a country? located in East Africa. It can be considered an independent state, as it has a government and a constitution, issues passports and its own currency, and has security forces. It even holds democratic elections on a regular basis.
But we do not see it on almost any map, since something is missing: international recognition. Why, for the rest of the countries, is it part of Somalia?
