Pro-Palestine protesters breach fence outside Democratic National Convention 2024 in Chicago
A coalition of pro-Palestine protesters breached the first fence line on the exterior of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday afternoon.
Activists approached the second fence line. Behind this was the DNC, where Biden will soon be speaking.
Police from the other side demanded they step away and pointed - but did not deploy - mace as protesters shook the secondary fence.
Police lines formed on both sides of the protesters who had entered the no-man zone this afternoon past the first fence.
Officers pushed in, sandwiching everyone and pushing them back into the park while making at least two arrests.
Police began replacing the portions of fence that had been taken down, as officers in riot gear stood behind it.
A couple of arrestees were taken out of view, one who was being held up by his feet and arms. Protesters observing this begged them to let him walk.
