Dave Wallace - Bladerunner (Dubplate Mix)
Since Dave regretted cutting and sending out the very first mix he made at the end of 1995, he had a change of heart and wanted to release the 1996 'dubplate' mix instead. As Dave explains:
"The original track which I recorded at the end of 1995 is really slow! I was just doing my own thing back then and hadn't started DJing or really worrying about tempo that much. I'm a massive Vangelis fan; you can hear his samples in loads of my music, and I wanted to see how some of his 'Bladerunner' pieces of music sounded sampled in a track.
Fast forward towards the end of '96 when things were kicking off, Aquasky and I sent Bukem the track as he was really into our Aquasky tunes. Bukem was the only DJ to get 'Bladerunner'. He said it was a bit slow, so I pitched it up in our Soundscape system. We did a few special tweaks of our tracks for Danny back then.
Any version of 'Bladerunner' played in a club will be Bukem's pitched-up version."
