[SDC23 Korea] 글로벌 표준 Matter를 활용한 SmartThings Platform 고도화

세션 소개
Matter는 현재 전 세계 다양한 글로벌 우수 기업들이 모여서 만들고 있는 IP 기반의 IoT 기기 간 단일 연결 표준입니다. 사용자에게 Simplicity, Interoperability, Reliability and Security 등 다양한 Value Proposition을 제공하고 있습니다. 2022년 10월에 1.0 규격이 승인되었고, 이후 다양한 Home Appliance 기기가 포함되면서 1.2 신규 규격 승인을 앞두고 있습니다.
저희 SmartThings에서는 Matter를 적극 지원하기 위해 노력하고 있으며 항상 최신의 Matter SDK를 Platform에 적용하고 있습니다. SmartThings App에서는 Commissioner를 지원하고 있으며, SmartThings Cloud에는 DCL, PKI 등 Matter 관련 서비스를 업데이트하였습니다. 가장 중요한 SmartThings Hub에서는 Controller를 지원하고 있고, 이는 다양한 Samsung 기기인 TV, Smart Monitor, Sound Bar, Family Hub Refrigerator, SmartThings Station 및 V3 Hub에 탑재 되면서 빠르게 확산되고 있습니다.
현재 SmartThings Platform에서는 Matter 기기 탐색·추가·제어 기능, Matter Bridge 기기 지원, Matter 기기 OTA 지원, Multi-Hub 연결 등 다양한 기능들이 업데이트되고 있습니다. 더불어 Matter의 큰 장점 중 하나인 여러 업체의 타 Eco Platform과도 호환되는 Multi-Admin 기능을 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 지원하고 있습니다. 이런 부분을 조기에 확보하고 지원하여 최신의 Platform을 통해 당사 IoT Solution을 고도화하고 있습니다.
더 나아가 Platform Eco 확대를 위한 WWST(Works with SmartThings) 프로그램에 금년부터 당사 Hub를 통한 Matter 기기를 제어할 수 있는 Application 용 API인 ‘Home API’를 Preview 형태로 제공하고 있고, SmartThings Matter SDK를 통해서 쉬운 WWST 제공, 기기의 De-Duplication 지원 및 Auto Generation을 통한 신속한 기기 추가 등 다양한 기능을 제공하려고 합니다.
본 Session에서는 위와 같은 내용을 상세하게 공유 드릴 예정입니다.
또한 SmartThings Matter에서는 다양한 Partner 확대를 위해 EAP(Early Access Program)를 운영하고 있으니, 관심있는 분들의 많은 참석 부탁 드립니다.
