An attempted jailbreak from the largest prison in the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo left at least two inmates dead on Monday. Heavy gunfire rang out and security forces cordoned off the area in Kinshasa as a government spokesman confirmed on X that there had been an "attempted escape”.
