How to select items without losing your position in the timeline? How about snapping an item to the cursor?
In this video we'll explore actions to select under the mouse, then copy, cut, and paste or move items to the edit cursor. This is an editing trick that saves tons of time and something I'm using in nearly every project. And I think this is something that can't be done in other DAWs.
Download the cycle actions for selecting under mouse:
I : Cycle - Select item under mouse, smart grouping
Shift+I : Cycle - Select item under mouse, smart grouping (add to selection)
Y : Item edit: Move position of item to edit cursor
C : Edit: Copy items/tracks/envelope points (depending on focus) ignoring time selection
X : Edit: Cut items/tracks/envelope points (depending on focus) ignoring time selection
V : Custom: Paste (move cursor to start of items)
Item: Paste items/tracks
Item navigation: Move cursor to start of items
