The battery for your Roku remote should last at least a few months under normal conditions. However, an issue with your remote's hardware, bad batteries, or the remote landing in such a way that something holds a button down can cause it to drain much faster. If you're having issues with your remote a good first troubleshooting step is to check your Roku remote's battery level to see if the battery is low, and if that's the case, try putting in fresh batteries to see if that fixes your problem. Unfortunately, digging through your Roku menu to find your remote's battery level is a bit of a pain.
Now let's walk through the steps to check your Roku remote's battery level.
Step 1. Navigate to the home screen on your Roku device.
Step 2. Click "Settings" in this menu. A list of Roku settings options is shown.
Step 3. Choose "Remotes and Devices" in this menu. Another menu is displayed.
Step 4. Click "Remotes" in the next menu. A list of options associated with your Roku remote is shown.
Step 5. Click the name of your remote. You'll land on the final menu.
Step 6. Click "About." Information associated with your Roku remote will be displayed on the screen. You can find your Roku remote's current battery level in the Battery Level field.
