Please note that the resulting scroll motion is smooth in person. The stutter/stagger visible in the video is the result of video compression/conversion.
Written directions included here in Steps 1-6:
1. On a blank slide, create a Text Box about the size of the slide’s visible area (leaving some space on the left/right-hand sides)
2. Type or paste in the block of text that you’d like for the text-scroll, and “Select All” to resize it as large as you’d like it to appear.
3. When increasing the font size in step 2, the height of your Text Box will start extending below the visible slide area. You want to reposition it so the bottom (end) of that Text Box rests inside the slide.
4. Be sure your Text Box is selected, then add the “Fly In” animation to it.
5. Open the Animation Pane, and hover your mouse over the right-hand edge of the green animation timing square for “Fly In” on the Pane’s timeline. Your cursor should turn into an L/R arrow with two vertical lines, to represent that you can click-and-hold, and extend the duration of the animation. You want to stretch that green square to the right, setting the duration you would like for your full reading.
6. You can now present that slide, and get a feel for the size/speed of the resulting text scroll. Any of the previous settings can be adjusted to suit your taste and presentation.
