Hill climbing ability is important for those looking to use the Segway Ninebot Max G2 in any environment that isn't flat. Low cost, single motor ecooters typically struggle with hills, so the ability of the G2 to climb slopes up to 22 degrees (according to Segway) is impressive.
Now, with that being said, I have seen reports and videos of people running into issues with the scooter overheating on hilly terrain under certain conditions. It appears that some riders over 200 lbs (90kg) riding at higher speeds over hilly terrain are more prone to the error. The Segway Ninebot Max G2 does have a weight capacity of 265 lbs (120 kg), so it's interesting to see these reports. That's part of the reason why I am running this hill climb test. Ultimately want to see if I encounter the issue riding on hills in the desert.
In this video, I cover 10.7 miles in approximately 42 minutes while attaining a max elevation gain of 500+ feet (152m). The outside temperature ranged from 90F - 94F (32C - 34C) during the ride. At the time of the recording, I was 195 lbs (88KG).
