Ever wonder how to do the crochet cast for knitting method?
In this video I'll show how to use a crochet hook to cast on stitches onto a knitting needle. This method creates a nice solid edge. Plus the cast on loops are neither too tight nor too loose. This makes knitting the next row much easier.
This method is good for beginners to knitting since casting on is generally a challenge for the first several times. This technique is excellent for intermediate and advanced knitters as this creates a solid edge. Plus it creates an edging that allows the pickup of stitches for a border edging as well as for shaping the item.
For my sample I'm using super bulky weight yarn, a size 15 mm knitting needle and a size 10 mm crochet hook. I'm using these larger sizes just to make it easier to see on the video. Feel free to use any other size yarn, crochet hook and knitting needle.
