Raye Hollitt placed 2nd at the 1988 (listed elsewhere as 1987, but the video clip I found, which I have a link to on the screen at the end of this video, says 1988) NPC Women's Strength Extravaganza, won overall at the 1988 NPC Los Angeles Bodybuilding Championships, and joined the cast of American Gladiators as "Zap" in 1989. She returned to competitive bodybuilding in 1992, placing 2nd heavyweight at the Orange County and California NPC shows, and 6th in the heavyweights at the Nationals. Raye is one of the rare competitive bodybuilders who went on to a rather prolific career in show business, rivaled, arguably, only by Cory Everson. Here is Raye in a great guest-starring role in the two-part 1995 pilot (ha!, get it?) of the hit network TV show J.A.G. She proves (again) that she is an excellent dramatic actress, not just bodybuilder window dressing. Given the opportunity, I think Raye would have continued on as an A-list actress, but success in show business unfortunately does not entirely depend on talent. Raye is just spectacular all around, what more can I say?
